Window Treatments for the Bathroom
There are several things to consider before ordering your window treatments for the bathroom. First, bathrooms are humid. If your thinking about wood blinds or shutters it would be best to go with faux wood or vinyl, as wood can warp with moisture. Also keep in mind that your window treatment doesn't interfere with the operation of the window as ventilation is important in the bathroom.
Privacy is a huge factor when choosing your window treatment for the bathroom. If your bathroom windows face the street or a nearby neighbor, consider light controlling privacy blinds, shades (faux wood, aluminum, cellular, roller) or shutters. For windows on second or third floors, consider top down/bottom up treatments that offer both natural light and privacy.
These days there are many window covering options, colors, textures and upgrades. There are also many brand names, such as Graber, Comfortex, Timber, Prestige, Hunter Douglas, Levolor, etc; it can be overwhelming.
