This shade is equipped with Style 5000 Jacquard fabric which was inspired by nature and created to take the function of sun control fabrics to a whole new level. The collection of 16 different fabrics is woven with diverse textures and rich colors and maintains the qualities that SheerWeave fabrics are known for - unmatched durability, minimal maintenance and excellent outward visibility. The Weave openness for Style 5000 ranges from 5% to 10% (see Fabric Facts below). This fabric is 74" wide. Shades wider than 74" will be rail - roaded and will have a horizontal seam.

Our Budget Sun Control shades are great when sun control is needed but the budget is limited. They have authentic Phifer SheerWeave Sun Control fabric which controls heat, glare and UV rays while allowing visibility through the shade. Sun Control shades are also referred to as Solar Shades.

FABRIC FACTS:

SheerWeave sun control fabrics offer an exciting new alternative to ordinary window coverings. They add beauty and elegance to compliment the interior d"cor while enhancing the quality of light at the window. SheerWeave's unique light filtering qualities help reduce the fading of drapes, carpets and other interior furnishings, while continuing to offer a view to the outside. SheerWeave filters out heat and glare, while allowing natural light to enter. Unlike many fabrics, SheerWeave fabrics allow outward visibility, even when closed.

Phifer SheerWeave Sun Control fabrics are basket type weaves and there are several styles to choose from. The weave styles range from 25% open to 1% open. Tighter weaves provide greater sun control but as the weave becomes tighter the vision through the fabric is lessened. If you have a major or serious sun/heat problem you should consider the tighter weaves such as 5%, 3% or even 1%. Our most popular styles are the 5% open fabrics which provide great sun control and yet still allow good vision through the fabric.

HARDWARE FACTS:

For ease of operation our Budget shades come standard with a clutch rather than spring roller. Each shade has a continuous nylon loop chain, which raises and lowers the shade when pulled in either direction. The control cord always remains the same length no matter what position the shade is in. Since the control chain is always the same length and does not get longer as the shade is raised, it is safer for homes with children or pets.

The beaded chain is color coordinated.

The clutch has a brake so when the shade is placed in the desirable position it stays there and does not lower itself. (A shade without a brake will drift downward due to the weight of the shade). The operation and braking capacity have been optimized so that even heavy shades require minimum effort to operate. The operation of this quality clutch is silent, smooth and fast at a 1:1 ratio.

The clutch can be placed on either side at the time of installation.

To eliminate the chain you can select the Auto Stop option (for details click on the red question mark behind the Auto Stop option below).

If ordering this shade for a door please note that hold down brackets are not available. Velcro can be used and is normally preferable to hold down brackets.

The roller tube is painted metal. Depending on the size of the shade the roller tube is 1 1/8" or 1 3/8" in diameter and depending on the size of the shade the hem bar will be wood or metal.

A cassette valance system is available and optional. The valance conceals the roller tube and mounting hardware and provides a very custom and clean finished look. IMPORTANT: Concerning roller shades, the width that you order is called the "tip to tip" measurement. The tip to tip measurement is the measurement from bracket to bracket after all the hardware has been placed on the roller tube. The fabric cannot be and will not be as wide as the "tip to tip" measurement. Typically on shades that have a clutch the fabric will be approximately 1 1/8" to 1" less wide than the "tip to tip" measurement (1/2" on idler side and" on clutch side). But this clutch system has been designed to have a symmetrical light gap of only" (approximately) on each side. Outside mount shades have color coordinated end caps to cover the sides of the brackets.
