|Phifer SheerWeave fabric Style 7100 is basically SheerWeave Style 2000 with a laminated backing. So Style 7100 accomplishes two goals. First, it is a sun control fabric that blocks heat and UV rays and, secondly, because of the laminated backing, it's also a blackout fabric. This makes it ideal for rooms that serve as home theaters and media rooms that also have a severe heat issue because of direct sun. The fabric substantially reduces heat and totally blocks UV rays, light and glare. Blackout and Room Darkening are terms the industry uses for fabrics in which light does not penetrate. Of course, as with all shades and blinds, light can still enter the room from the sides, top and bottom of the shade. This light and glare may be totally undesirable in Home Theaters, Media Rooms and Business Labs. If near total blackout is required, roller shades utilizing Style 7100 fabric can be installed with our Side and Sill Systems to prevent light from entering from the side, and bottom of the shade. A fascia and back plate can be installed to prevent light from entering around the roller at the top of the shade. You can learn more about our Side and Sill System by clicking here *.

Our Primo line of roller shades is extremely high quality in every respect. For smooth, trouble free performance all Primo shades are equipped with a heavy duty Rollease Clutch System. This superior clutch system enables the roller shade to hold any desired position precisely and maintain that height with zero slippage. Adjacent Primo/Rollease shades can be set easily to exactly matching heights and have the smallest light gap in the industry. The shades raise and lower smoothly and easily, requiring only about half as much force as raising a comparable shade with a friction brake system. No adjustments are ever needed. The roller shade is operated with a #10 plastic bean chain that is actually rated to handle more weight than a steel chain. You have your choice of a black clutch and black chain or a white clutch and white chain. If you do not select a color for the clutch and chain the factory will color coordinate it the color. The controls/clutch can be placed on either side in the field at the time of installation. However, if you order the optional fascia with the shade you should select the side on which you want the controls - right side or left side. If you don't select the side, the controls will be placed on the right side by the fabricator. The optional fascia is constructed of L shaped aluminum and is available in white or bronze. The fascia panel conceals the front and bottom of the roller tube and mounting hardware and provides a very custom and clean finished look. The fascia system is designed for fast, easy and secure installation. See options box below for fascia options. Price for the fascia varies depending on the width of the shade.
For extra stability, the Primo roller shades have a heavy duty aluminum roller tube that is 1" in diameter. To add strength this roller tube has 3 spline grooves. The fabric is inserted into a spline which provides a very positive fabric attachment. On some competitor's shades the fabric is taped or glued to the roller tube. Primo shades also have an extruded heavy-weight aluminum hem bar which provides extra stability on larger shades. The exterior of the hem bar is wrapped with the shades fabric for uniform appearance and the fabric is attached to the hem bar with double wrapped inserted spline system for extra strength. Aluminum bars are better than wood because aluminum does not warp.
The width of the shade with the hardware attached to the ends of the roller tube is called the "tip to tip" measurement. Please be aware that the fabric cannot be and will not be as wide as the "tip to tip" measurement. This is true for all roller shades. On all roller shades that utilize the Rollease clutch the fabric will be approximately 1" less wide than the "tip to tip" measurement. There will be a 3/4" on one side and a 1/2" light gap on the other side. In addition to "outside mount" and "inside mount" our Primo and Louvolite roller shades can be ordered "cloth measurement/outside mount. For more details click here.
